 Les Violons du Roy borrows its name from the renowned string orchestra that=0D=0A=
 played the royal courts of France. This chamber orchestra has a vast=0D=0A=
 repertoire, and its 15 musicians perform each piece in the stylistic manner=0D=0A=
 most appropriate to each era=0D=0A=
 =0D=0A=
 Les Violons du Roy is well known throughout Canada, thanks to regular=0D=0A=
 appearances at music festivals and numerous concerts, as well as recordings=0D=0A=
 on CBC and its French-language counterpart, Radio-Canada. The group made its=0D=0A=
 European debut in 1988 and has since performed dozens of concerts in=0D=0A=
 France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain and the Netherlands, often in=0D=0A=
 the company of internationally renowned soloists such as Magdalena Kožená,=0D=0A=
 David Daniels and Vivica Genaux.=0D=0A=
 =0D=0A=
 Following  a performance in Washington in 1995, the group began to acquire=0D=0A=
 an American following and has since regularly appeared in New York,=0D=0A=
 Chicago and Los Angeles. The high point of the 2009-2010 season has been a=0D=0A=
 U.S. tour to perform Haendel’s Messiah and Bach’s Christmas Oratorio with=0D=0A=
 La Chapelle de Québec, a renowned choir and an outstanding array of=0D=0A=
 soloists. The tour has taken them to New York City’s Carnegie Hall and the=0D=0A=
 Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. These performances have received=0D=0A=
 remarkably positive reviews in both the New York Times and the Los Angeles=0D=0A=
 Times.=0D=0A=

 For over a quarter-century, Les Violons du Roy’s interpretation of=0D=0A=
 Vivaldi’s Four Seasons has wowed audiences, and their performance in=0D=0A=
 Ottawa is a must-see event for music lovers. Under the direction of=0D=0A=
 harpsichordist Richard Paré, one of the group’s founders, the orchestra’s=0D=0A=
 female musicians will take turns giving solo performances as the seasons=0D=0A=
 roll around. This will allow the audience to appreciate the fine talents of=0D=0A=
 violinists Pascale Gagnon, Pascale Giguère, Nicole Trotier et Véronique=0D=0A=
